Raw rengginang is fried. The raw rengginang is made from a half done sticky rice added with special recipes to make the taste. I am not sure how to make it because the makers usually keep the recipes secretly. It is an old recipe from their parents or grandparents.

Yes, rengginang is a healthy food because it does not use preservatives. It only uses food coloring. If you don’t want rengginang without food coloring you can choose the plain one or the black one that is made from black sticky rice.
